We believe Big Bend Country to be one of the last frontiers in the lower 48 states. Our goal is to have you and your family come back to see us again and again. Feel the pressures and the stresses of the "Other Life" melt away in a West Texas Old West setting.
Chris and Rita have both completed a Horseback Rider Safety and First Aid Course designed to help keep you as safe and secure as possible. They are both well qualified to provide you with a truly pleasant adventure experience.
BACKGROUND HISTORY
Chris came to Big Bend Country from the Red River Valley area of Texas, a few hundred miles in distance but a world apart in concept. He had been around cows and horses all his life, having grown up on the family dairy farm. He had only $40 in his pocket, a broken heart, and a dream when he arrived on the scene back in 1999. The dream of being a "real" Wild West Cowboy. Chris and Rita Calvin are both veterans of years of horseback riding and Trail Guiding in Big Bend Country. Rita also hails from Northeast Texas. Rita joined up with Chris in September of 2005. Chris and Rita extend the invitation to you and your family to come and stay a spell. Let us show you the good parts of our dream, and what we have found, and come to love as a way of life here in Big Bend Country.
